The Wormhole police department has, as the name suggests, historically been focused on enforcing the law within Anoikis, or Wormhole Space. Our organization has changed a lot in the past year, with a massive influx of new deputies and officers. Today the WHPD announces the formation of a new division: The Highsec Police.
Many people may be surprised to see this, and wonder how the WHPD justifies the creation of this new branch. With more and more deputies joining up with us, our resources and capabilities have increased drastically. This not only means we can operate that much more efficiently and have been able to arrest more dirtbags than ever. We have access to greater amounts of funding and our reach has never been so great.
In light of this, some of our officers recruited a crew of so-called Highsec “gankers”. These hard-working individuals don’t shy away from a gunfight in High-security space, with or without CONCORD’s authorization. They have already proven themselves tireless and ruthless in enforcing traffic regulations, protecting New Eden’s landmarks from endless exploitation and improving the safety of the cluster one dirtbag at a time.
The traffic infractions enforced so far include a wide range of dangerous offences, from sleeping at the wheel, erratic and reckless flying, flying without a license to insufficient amounts of space-grade blinker fluid or not having airbag and seatbelt modules. There are a lot of dirtbags out there making space unsafe!
An internal report conducted by the finance department found that, even in the primitive stages of this new branch, the HSP division has been financially self-sustaining and even made a steady profit without significant external funding. The report analyzed the optimal tactics and strategies involved in efficiently improving New Eden’s safety.
Wormhole Police HQ has found these results encouraging and is proud to count the HSP among its more traditional officers and deputies. They say future expansion of the new division is already being considered.
