Leftist media has increasingly been pushing an agenda labeling law enforcement and the WHPD specifically as “violent thugs”. This has led to an increase in the number of violent arrests as suspects often no longer respect law enforcement authority and just attempt to flee whatever the cost or outright opening fire on officers.
Especially the notorious capsuleer news agency Rushlock Media has recently been campaigning against the WHPD, calling officers “trigger happy yahoo cowboy wannabe’s” and accusing officers of “shooting first and asking questions later”. They have been posting videos of WHPD dashcam footage, criticizing officer’s actions, however investigation has shown that most of these videos has in fact been altered and edited to further this agenda.
This has caused many dangerous situations where officers were trying to deescalate but the suspect did not recognize the officers auhtority and instead violently resisted arrest, leaving the officers no choice but to eventually open fire in return.
The head of WHPD public relations department, Ruubz Raubzen, urges citizens that when coming into contact with an officer, to just follow their directions. In most cases officers will only want to have a short conversation or perform a short inspection of your vehicle. Stay calm and there is no need to worry for your safety.
The WHPD will continue to release their unedited dashcam footage to the public to prevent misinformation from spreading.
